Married, to wife Shirley for 42 years, four children, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren

 

United States Air Force:

24 years of worldwide service (October 1958-October 1982). Attained the grade of SMSgt (E-8) before retiring in 1982 to seek other pursuits.

 

Ministry:

August 1980:  Joined Grace First Baptist Church under the late Pastor Linwood F. Russ.  Was ordained as Deacon June 24, 1984.  Called to preach the gospel at Grace First Baptist Church, March 11, 1990, licensed May 20, 1990, under Pastor A. Brasfield, Jr. Ordained July 18, 1997.  Served at Grace as Sunday School Teacher, Baptist Training Union Teacher, and Assistant Sunday School Superintendent.

 

October 1997-July 31, 2004: Greater Good News Missionary Baptist Church.  Served as Assistant to the Pastor, Minister of Education.  Advisor to Sunday School Teachers, taught Wednesday Night Bible Study.

 

January 1995 – December 2009: Advisor to the San Antonio Area State Congress of Christian Workers, Ushers & Nurses.

 

1996 San Antonio Black Achievement Awards-Minister of the Year.

 

2010 Advisor to the South Central Regional Women’s Ministry of the Missionary Baptist General Convention of Texas, (current).

 

2009 Assistant Recording Secretary, of the South Central Region of the Missionary Baptist General Convention of Texas, (current).

 

2009-2013 Secretary, Baptist Minister’s Union of San Antonio & Vicinity.

 

2010-2016 Treasurer, Community of Churches for Social Actions (CCSA).
